Story
After decades of bland “new build” homes dominating the local market, our company identified a niche for bespoke individually designed homes that challenged expectations. Capturing the growing zest amongst the public to realise their own visions and designs Maris have developed a unique client led design and build service which enables clients to take ownership of the design of their new home. With an impressive portfolio spanning over 20 years the Maris brand has evolved into one synonymous with innovative design, quality and personal service.
Experience has given us a strong sense of how we use spaces within our homes and how our homes contribute to our sense of wellbeing: bright interiors with purposeful “empty” free flowing spaces define our signature style. It was for these strengths, together with our attention to detail in compliance with building control, that we were awarded the 2019 LABC Northern Award for Best Small Housing Development and went on to achieve a second award at the National Finals in London.
Moving forward our company continues to invest in environmentally conscious design and to redefine standard expectations of the new build home.

Katy manages the design process from the planning stage through to completion. Katy collaborates with clients, architects, designers and suppliers and coordinates the design of each bespoke home. Katy is also responsible for customer liaison and the management of all sales and lets.

David’s role within the company is to oversee business development, site management and health and safety. David has achieved several management qualifications and has many years experience in business and the construction industry. David is also responsible for land acquisition and future developments for the company.

Stephen, as principle designer, is responsible for all architectural drawings, building control, 3D modelling and liaising with relevant planning authorities. Stephens role also involves collaborating with individual clients on any bespoke elements or revisions to the approved plans.
All bathrooms are individually designed with Villeroy and Boch porcelain. Our bathrooms are complemented with quality Villeroy and Boch brassware and concealed cisterns and flush plate systems. Complete your style with our wide range of porcelain tiles selected from the V&B World of Tile collection or work with our design team to customise your bathrooms to your own specifications.
Together with our in-house design team we create a kitchen that reflects your unique style, be it traditional, industrial or sleek and modern. We offer a wide choice of quality German kitchens as standard which are complemented by quartz worktops, stainless steel fittings, feature lighting and all German appliances.
Quality LVF flooring comes as standard to entrance halls and kitchen/dining areas in all of our properties. All bathrooms and wet areas are finished in full bodied porcelain tiles by Villeroy and Boch and bedrooms and living areas fully carpeted.
At Maris we view the design and build of your new home as a two way process. We remove the stresses associated with building your own home while allowing you, the client, to take ownership of the design. From customising the flow of the internal spaces to designing your own fireplace and kitchen, the options are endless.
At Maris we are committed to investing in sustainable new homes with strong ecological credentials. Our new homes feature sustainable and renewable technologies including air source heating systems, smart metering and energy efficient lighting and appliances.
We ensure that all our homes are built to an excellent standard and adhere to “The Consumer Code for Homebuilders”, an industry led code of conduct for all homebuilders registered with the UK’s main warranty providers. Your new home comes with a Global Home Warranty specifically designed for newly built private residential developments.
